what is AUTOFARMER?autofarmer is a full-automatic, cheap, small unit, that control lamps and watering pump to grow a plant.autofarmer is also called hyperfarmer Use is simple: you plug-in autofarmer to power, it begins just like after reset, once a day (so-called quasi-day; q-day) it turns lamps on for 18h(12h) and simultaneously watering pump for 2-3 seconds. You can, of course, set watering once in 2, 4 or 8 days. You can adjust fotoperiod in 16-qdays or 32-qdays sequences. Eg 32x18/24, then 32x12/24. hyperfamer left for more than 2 q-months will work like that: 32x18/24 + 32x12/24, then again 32x18/24 + 32x12/24 etc. you can adjust duration time of q-day.  
scheme shows PCB (printed circuit board) and all electronic components. lets start from upper right corner, direction: left.  
first is transformer. 220/12 volts for europe or 110/12 for US. then bridge. typically 400V/1A. then electrolithic capacitor, 470uF to 2200uF. then plain direct voltage stab. L7812 or adjusted LM319 or equivalent. note that LM319 needs variable resistor and constant one; if you use the 7812 just make simple junction from its middle lead to GND. then capacitor 100nF (not required). There is an entry for 9-volts battery, UPS-like unit. then two 1N4001 diodes. Then the "heart": C-MOS IC, 4XXX and resistors 2x330 ohms and capacitor 220nF. Then another IC: C-MOS 40XX. then, prallelly, 2x100kohms resistors and transistors: BC547 or equivalent. near down transistor, there is one 5kohms resistor and 2x220uF or 3x1500uf or one 4700uF capacitor. nearby are 2 relays 12V/2A and fuse 1A, and outputs: upper for 3 energy-saving bulbs (fluorecent), other one for small aquarium-water pump. Second PCB lays over big one, its for analog multiplexer, it sets fotoperiods depending on growth or flowering-state. C-MOS IC 40XX, and capacitor 10nF or bigger (max 100nF). these 2 PCBs are wired: out18 to in18 on smaller; out19 to in19 etc. out from smaller PCB is common lead for "lam-st" and "p-st" pins on bigger PCB. Thats all! autofarmer Ver 3.0 pcb:removed few unnecesary components: fuse, diagnostic LEDs, transformer get onto pcb, too, so now you can place whole unit in small 2-piece cover. transformer should be 2watt. and bridge: you can use ANY and it will match the pcb now.
